Parenting Education

Our 16-week Intensive Parenting Education program is provided to parents who need assistance with implementing age-appropriate discipline, understanding their child and, or adolescent, re-building the child-parent relationship, and utilizing practical communication skills. Our parenting education curriculum uses evidence-based family skills training interventions for high-risk and general population families.

Class Requirements:

  • Class sign in is counted as attendance. If you do not sign into class, you will be counted absent.
  • You are considered tardy after 10 minutes
  • Three occurrences of tardiness equal 1 absence
  • After three unexcused absences you will be dropped from the course
  • You are allowed three excused absences ( court, medical)-you must provide written proof of the absence for your record.
  • If you are dropped from the course or fail, you have the option to re-enroll in the course for the next cohort.
  • If you require special assistance, please speak with the instructor privately.
  • Classes are face to face, no virtual

Course Syllabus

  • Pre and Post Test before and after each module: 5%
  • Course Parenting Project:15%
  • Class Assignments:10%
  • Class Participation:50%
  • Homework Assignments:10% 
  • Final Parenting Exam:10%

 

This course is pass or fail. In order to pass the parent must have a cumulative grade of 90 or above.
