History, Mission, and Vision

In 2012, a blueprint of a social service agency that provided various behavioral health services was developed by a graduate social work student. In 2014, the student became a provisionally licensed clinical social worker and clinical addictions specialist and decided it was pertinent to gain direct experience with the population of focus prior to offering mental health services as a sole provider. This led to the provider conducting various psychotherapy and family-based services for various mental health agencies within the home and community sector throughout various parts of Fayetteville, North Carolina. This experience allowed the provider to gain an insightful perspective of needed mental health services and service gaps. This also allowed the provider to observe and treat patients and families in their natural settings. These settings informed on the significance of cultural awareness, humility, and empathy in patient care. In 2015, these outcomes prompted the provider to establish Clinical Counseling and Consulting Services, PLLC (3C).

The initial year of 3cworks was most critical, the agency operated with one provider, who was also the owner; insurance networks were closed, and patients continuously expressed a need for services that were not available within the catchment area. This led to the provider soliciting needed services to insurance panels, encouraging patients to express their needs to their insurance carriers as well as legislation, and consistent involvement in community outreach activities to inform on the significance of treatment advocacy. In 2016, the influx in 3cworks clientele, resulted in the need for additional psychotherapists. During the latter of 2016, the agency transitioned to a group practice.

Throughout the years, 3C has evolved from solely providing counseling and psychotherapy services, to providing an array of behavioral health services for all individuals and families. The most fascinating fact about 3C is its beginning and the foundation on which the agency was created. This agency was built on the premise of social work, which encompasses the disciplines of psychology, sociology, criminal justice, and medicine; while upholding the torch for social welfare and social justice.
